Tree Plantation – 19th July 2008

It was the first time Tewa did such kind of fund raising event. There are two main objective organizing this event – one was to save the environment and the other was to support and strengthen grassroots women for their livelihood through various income generating projects.in many parts of world including Nepal due to deforestation, landslide has become major problems that are endangering human lives and environment , so this fundraising event found good public and government support.

This event was done in Bhaisepati VDC with the support of ‘Bhainsepati Samudaik Mahila Upabhakta Ban”, forestry office, Bhaisipati, Lalitpur on 19th July 2008. This event raised Rs.1,68,000/- (One Lakh Sixt Eight Thousand Rupees) by selling the seedlings at the rate of rs.100/-. More than 150 people including school children enthusiastically participated in planting the saplings in the driving rain.
