International Network of Women’s Fund
(feminist values in action: creating resources for a better world)

The International Network for Women’s Fund (INWF) is a network of 25 independent women’s funds from the global north and south working to create equality, social justice and transformation.
The evolution from separate funds to a connected global network, promoting learning and strategic development, begin in 1998 with the 15th anniversary of Mama Cash ,an international women’s fund based in the Netherlands.at this point a drive to develop a global movement was advanced.
To tuss the ideas and energy of funds into cohesive network, a meeting in 2000 was hosted by Tewa and convened in Kathmandu. Nine women’s fund Nirnaya - India, Tewa – Nepal, Semillas –Mexico, African women Development Fund – Africa, Angela Borba – Brazil, WHEAT Trust – South Africa were present for the inauguration of the INWF. Since then it has grown with total 25 members and the annual meetings are held every 2 years and have provided opportunities for peer learning, mentoring, information sharing and professional development.
